Building Energy Rating (BER) The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) was transposed into Irish Law on the 4th of January 2006. It requires that when a building is constructed, sold, or rented a Building Energy Rating (BER) detailing its energy consumption must be made available to the prospective buyers or tenants. A BER rates the building on a scale from A to G, with A representing the most energy efficient and G the least efficient. A BER assessment may only be carried out by a trained BER assessor who is registered with Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI). We at Barnes Murray de Bháill Ltd. are fully qualified and registered to carry out BER assessments by SEI, and are members of the National Register of BER Assessors. In addition, we have amassed considerable experience in the field of renewable technologies and can advise how buildings can be improved or upgraded in a cost-effectice manner. |
