ABOUT US The business was established in 1994 and was incorporated as Barnes Murray de Bháill Ltd. in 2006 to acknowledge our continued expansion and growth. In the period since inception, our continued success has led to an increase in the scope of services provided such that we now provide a comprehensive range of planning, engineering, and environmental services to both the private and commercial sectors. Kieran Murray BSc (Geol), MIEG (Director)Kieran Murray holds a degree in Geology from University College Cork and has extensive experience in planning, engineering, and surveying. He has a detailed knowledge of the planning process and has experience in the preparation and submission of planning applications from individual one-off rural houses to large-scale commercial premises. He has a particular interest in the areas of storm water management and the design of drainage infrastructure. Kieran has undertaken the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Site Assessors training and is a Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) approved Building Energy Assessor. Aoife de Bháill BA, HDip, MPhil (Director)Aoife de Bháill graduated from University College Cork before moving to University College London to undertake her PhD studies. She has a background in geography and spatial planning. Her strong background in research and comprehensive understanding of planning policy ensures an excellent success rate. Aoife specialises in traditional design with a modern slant, with particular emphasis on energy efficient design. In all of her designs, Aoife's primary focus is on producing structures that will stand the test of time and passing fashions, and ultimately complement the landscape in which they are located. Nigel Barnes - Lord St. Hilary C. Eng., MISEE (Senior Consultant)Nigel Barnes, Lord St. Hilary is a retired Chartered Engineer with over 30 years experience in the industry. Since his retirement, he has developed an active involvement in historical house conservation projects. He also provides advice and skills training in historical house conservation. In addition, Nigel has a comprehensive knowledge of traditional building methods and materials including mortars, masonry, and timber-work. Nigel has published many articles and has recently been featured in the SelfBuild publications.
